About Me
Reset Coaching by Naila Ahmed

I am Naila Ahmed, founder of Reset Coaching. I am a Coaching Psychologist, specialising in positive psychology supporting individuals to build a happier life. Positive psychology is the study of the strengths and weaknesses that allow individuals and communities to survive and thrive, aligning itself perfectly with the coaching profession. The belief is that that people are resourceful, dedicated to improvement, and motivated to grow.

I utilise the skills from my journey in Masters in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology (MAPPCP) to bring clients a unique approach that blends theory with practice. I am an EMCC Accredited Coach (European Individual Accreditation – The EIA award) at Practitioner level and abide by the Global Code of Ethics and a Global Code of Ethics Supporter. Apart from the services that I provide at Reset Coaching, I also like to explore positive psychology interventions and the impact of coaching across cultures bringing in the knowledge to best support my clients. I enjoy volunteering and working with other organisations to support their with their wellbeing.

Growing up, I was enthusiastic about developing strong, enduring relationships, which requires having positive self-talk regularly and believing the greatest thoughts possible about oneself. This came as a challenge and I battled to control my inner critic. I always believed in the power of a positive figure whether that was a teacher, a parent, an aunt or a friend. The people that believe in us, help us grow in pushing and challenging us. I saw this as my biggest strength, so I followed a path and career serving and supporting individuals to thrive and strive.
I want to encourage individuals to trust their own judgement rather than what they have been told. I did not have a lot of knowledge about mental health or wellbeing, diet, exercise, or physical health when I was younger. The connection between a healthy mind, body, and heart eluded me. However, I always believed in spirituality and a greater inner strength and connection.
I now see the connection between ' physical and mental health as well as the interconnectedness between the two, spirituality and intuition. I work with clients in a holistic manner addressing all parts of their life, mind, body spirituality working in a creative way.

During emotional hardships, I discovered that I am not a victim of my emotions. I discovered how to take initiative as opposed to waiting to see what happens. I could have chosen to wallow in my own misery, instead, I discovered that the more I understood and learned about myself, the more I was able to deal with my emotions and move forward. I gained an understanding of personal accountability and responsibility.

My work experience includes supporting victims of domestic and sexual abuse, childhood trauma, human trafficking and modern slavery, adults and young people experiencing mental health and supporting neuro divergent communities, individuals who have experienced trauma, PTSD, displaced refugees and asylum seekers are just a few to name. I have an excellent understanding of culture and diversity and this is my passion to develop more work in the field of culture in the future.
My journey as a coach began when I completed my degree in Law and Sociology at university. After finalising my research project on the topic of 'women and provocation 'in domestic abuse cases, I developed a deep interest in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, which led to my first role working directly with individuals impacted by it. In this position, I focused on helping them reclaim their voice, rebuild confidence, and rediscover their motivation.

As my interest in supporting individuals grew, I began working in various charities and organisations, including local councils and educational institutes. Over the years, I have built my experience, skills and knowledge in many areas, including human trafficking and modern slavery, neurodiversity, mental health and wellbeing, young people, newly arrived children and families from different cultures, supporting and training school staff with cultural diversity, supporting university students with wellbeing, and supporting displaced refugees with their mental health both online and face to face.
